Cwmaman Care Centre is located in Cwmaman, a little village near Aberdare, in South Wales. It provides a comfortable and safe residential care for forty-nine residents who are elderly and for those who suffer from some form of dementia.
Mrs Debbie Nathan is the Registered Manager who has fifteen years’ owning and managing care homes. She holds the Registered Managers’ Award, Certificate of Management Studies and attended the Culture Change in Dementia Care “An Emotional Journey” course provided by Dementia Care Matters in January 2014. She is the Director of two companies.
Mr Martin Sanderson is the Home Manager with extensive experience working in different areas at the Home for the past eight years. He is qualified a Health and Safety Officer and achieved the Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration. He has obtained the Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults’ Residential Management).
Miss Alison Price BA (Hons English and History), Administrator, has worked at the Home for eight years and has achieved the Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration and obtained the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults’ Residential Management) Wales and N.I.
Head of Care
Mrs Tracy Cartwright has over 20 years’ experience in the care industry and leads the team of care staff. She obtained the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for Wales and Northern Ireland and attended the Culture Change in Dementia Care “An Emotional Journey” course provided by Dementia Care Matters in January 2014.
Nearly all our staff are trained to NVQ level 2 & 3 and the QCF Level 2. Most of the staff are experienced and committed to the residents and respect that it is their home, promote their independence, give them the privacy and choice in everyday matters.
All our rooms are fully furnished with a lockable facility for safe keeping of valuables, television socket points and medication cabinets for storing the individual resident’s medication. All three floors have their own lounge, dining room, kitchenette, bathrooms and toilets. There is a Hairdresser’s Room and a designated Smokers’ Room. The patio area outside overlooks the mountains and is a suntrap in the good weather.
